Lighthouse

A must-see on the map of Kołobrzeg.

Kołobrzeg tempts tourists with its attractions every year. Some people come here to relax, others go crazy in seaside clubs. However, regardless of whether we prefer active recreation or prefer to lie on the beach - there is a place on the map of Kołobrzeg that we all must see when visiting this city, to look at it and the surrounding area from a slightly different perspective - it is the lighthouse.

The lighthouse in Kołobrzeg was lit for the first time in 1666. However, it took place periodically, while waiting for the ships to arrive. Permanently, it was put into operation only 200 years later and it was then used to burn Fresnel lamps for rapeseed oil, which was turned into a gas light source only in 1909. In 1945, the lighthouse was destroyed during the war, but rebuilt again shortly after.
Currently, the charming lighthouse tower reaches 26 m, and its light range reaches 16 nm. The source of power is a rotating optical apparatus with ten light walls in which two 200W bulbs are placed. The light of the lighthouse rises at a height of 36.5 m. The lighthouse in Kołobrzeg is administered by the Maritime Office in Słupsk and is open to visitors.

In the Lighthouse there i salso the Minerals Museum and a music club.
