A place for walks for residents and visitors of Kołobrzeg
The pier in Kołobrzeg is an extension of Mickiewicza Street. It is 220 m long and 9 m wide, and in its vicinity there are the Bałtyk sanatorium, Jan Szymański boulevard and the Zdrojowy Park of Stefan Żeromski.
Its history dates back to 1881, when the first T-shaped wooden pier, approx. 100 m long, was built at the Beach Castle sanatorium. The end of the pier was a haven for small sailing ships, and the entire structure was destroyed during the war in Kołobrzeg during World War II.
The pier, which can be seen today in Kołobrzeg, was officially opened on June 19, 1971. The structure is made of reinforced concrete and is the longest structure of this type reaching the sea in Poland. Ok. 4.5 m above sea level, there is a walking platform on it, which is available for free to all visitors. At the end of the Kołobrzeg pier, there is a two-tier head, to which small cruise ships can land.
The pier was thoroughly renovated in 2014 and reopened on November 27, 2014. It gained a lot of beauty thanks to the illumination of light on it, thanks to which walking around this facility at night is an exceptionally spectacular experience.
The modernized and renewed pier attracts both Kołobrzeg residents and many tourists. The entrance ticket to the pier in the season from April to September costs 2.5 PLN normal and 1 PLN reduced one. In low season, from October to March, the entrance is free.
